2022 Fun Science Summer Camp at Discover Learning Center at a super low price
The Discover Learning Center 2022 Summer Camp provides your child with a fun, enriching learning experience at a cheaper price. This summer program is designed to give students knowledge and experience concerning Science Olympiad, MathCounts, Critical thinking and various technologies. Concurrently, we will engage in courses in writing, reading, and math. Discover Learning Center is a fulfilling learning environment with devoted teachers that are carefully selected. Not only are they teachers but also are role models for our students. All teachers are Fairfax Public school certified and Virginia AAP endorsement.
Every morning (8:30am to 12:30pm): the program will cover English reading comprehension, writing and grammar for two hours, math for two hours. The curriculums, lessons plan and materials in English and Math classes carry on with the high quality at Discover Learning Center during summer camp. The students will have a recess between the two classes. For details of each grade, please see below.
Afternoon Team Activities (1:30pm to 5:30pm): The students will be in the classroom, or big hallway, or outdoors doing the projects and competitions, which they love the most. Drop Off time: 8:15am, Teacher instruction begins at 8:30 am to end at 5:30 pm.
Full Day Summer Camp Sessions: (Monday to Friday, drop off at 8:15 am, From 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, students will be engaged by teachers)
Half Day Summer Camp Sessions: (Monday to Friday, drop off at 8:15 am, Classes start at 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm)
Session 1: 06/14/2022 to 07/8/2022 (4 weeks, no class on 7/4/2022)
Session 1 Location: Fairfax County Public school in Herndon/Fairfax/Chantilly area. It will be finalized after March 1st 2022
Session 2: 07/11/2022 to 08/05/2022, (4 weeks)
Session 2 Location: Fairfax County Public school in Tyson's Corner/Falls Church/Vienna, it will be finalized after March 1st 2022.
The registration fee for summer camp: $30 per student, it is non-refundable
The price includes tuition and snacks, does not include books, materials, and lunch. There is no hidden cost
Weekly Tuition=(1 week =130%), (2 weeks = 120%), (3 weeks=110%) of per week in session tuition. Returning students weekly tuition= 100% of per week in session tuition
Daily Tuition = 150% of per day in session tuition
Multiple Sessions discount: -$30.00, starting from the 2nd session for every session.
Sibling Discount: -$30.00 for the second child per session
The Late Registration fee will be charged after 5/14/2022: +$100.00 per student, per session, it is non-refundable
Lunch: Students can order lunch from our center. We will post the lunch menu weekly on Instagram (Instagram ID: discover386)
Afternoon Extended Care ($15 per day): 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Note: Discover Learning Center reserves the rights to make adjustments to the schedule, pricing, terms and conditions due to the rental increase and enrollment status
Security, Safety and Health:
Student’s security, Safety and health are the top priorities at Discover Learning Center. We follow the Fairfax County public school security, safety and health regulations. Students are supervised by Discover Learning Center staffs on the campus.
Daily Schedule:
8:15 am to 8:30 am: Drop off time
8:30 am to 12:30 pm: Two-hour English class, Two-hour Math class, a recess between the two classes
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm: Lunch
1:30 pm to 3:30 pm: Two-hour Science Olympiad project and competition
3:30 pm to 5:30 pm: MathCounts practice/competition, Critical Thinking, Spelling Bee competition, Sports competition, Chess, Computer Science, Debate and Team-building activities
5:30 to 6:30 pm: Afternoon Extended Care ($15 per day)

The curriculums, lessons plan and materials in English and Math classes carry on with the high quality at Discover Learning Center during summer camp.
Science Olympiad: Every afternoon for two hours, all the students will participate in the full-life cycle of the Science Olympiad projects design, building, practice and preparation for the competition at the end. The Science teacher will coordinate and coach the teams. The team will receive scores every day.
Team-building activities: Every afternoon, the last two hours, the teach-building activities is the most fun part. There is no body want to miss it. All events and competitions will be between the teams. Here are the basic items in the team building activities, but not limited to:

Scoring: Each team will receive scores from the Science Olympiad activities and team-building events every day. The winner of the session is determined by each team's overall score and individual score. The final winner of the session will receive a free ticket to King's Dominion.
Full Day or Half Day: students can choose either full day camp or half day camp. Students can choose either half day in morning or half day in afternoon.
Morning: The program will cover English Language for two (reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary and grammar), and Math for two hours. Students will have a recess (15 min.) between the two classes. For details of each grade, please see below.
Afternoon Team Activities: students will have two-hour Science Olympiad project and two hours Team-building activities.
